For Clubs
Here you will find everything that is important for clubs and team manger.
Dear rowing colleagues,
The VIRR 2026 is just around the corner and we would like to thank you very much for your numerous entries. 480 athletes from 31 clubs across 9 countries are registered for this coming weekend. WOW!
Firstly, regarding the weather:
The current weather conditions are considered extreme, and very high temperatures are expected from early in the day. For this reason, we have taken various measures to minimise risk. The key points are as follows:
- Races will start at 7:00am on both days
- Heats will be cancelled if there are six or fewer entries for U17; the corresponding finals will be spread across Saturday and Sunday
- Heat protection protocol used by World Rowing will be applied
- Headgear is compulsory for U17s (light-coloured; ideally, all rowers in the boat should wear the same; no warning or penalty if this is not the case)
- Cooling facilities in the boat area
Further details will be provided at the team manager meeting. This will take place on Friday 26 June at 5:00pm at the regatta venue; attendance is compulsory.
To get everyone in the mood for the exciting race weekend, school races will take place on Friday. For this reason, training on Friday 26 June between 3:00pm and 6:00pm is only permitted in the cool-down area.
*Please urge your athletes to stay in the shade when they are not racing!*
With all these measures, we aim to help ensure that VIRR 2026 is a safe, fair and, in the best sense, memorable event. This will only be possible with your support and cooperation. We’re counting on you!
